DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required.
- Two years of experience in administrative support or equivalent type work.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency and experience in multiple software programs including Microsoft Office Suite; current Basic Excel & Intermediate Word scores on file.
- Understand and utilize technology including PowerSchool Special Ed and Data Director, and the AS400.
- Ability to establish and maintain an efficient and effective filing system, including digital filing.
- Ability to maintain complex clerical records and prepare reports from such records (report cards, progress reports and transcripts).
- Experience in the preparation of formatted materials such as certificates, newsletters, brochures, and other printed materials, etc.
- Ability to function effectively with minimal direct supervision and make minor office decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and to work tactfully, patiently, cooperatively and effectively in daily interactions with staff, parents, districts and others.
- Possess a mature work attitude along with other personal qualities of integrity, pride, loyalty and enthusiasm.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varied responsibilities as needed or required.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information as trusted by the building Principal.
- Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Provide clerical assistance to staff and/or assistance to the building principal.
- Receive incoming calls and direct them as appropriate.
- Promptly and courteously handle inquiries and questions from parents, districts, staff and other persons.
- Schedule and maintain appointments for principal and staff; assist students and parents as needed, and continually update staff and student schedules.
- Maintain student and other school records and files as needed and/or required.
- From rough draft or instructions: type forms, accounting and financial statements, letters, receipts, attendance reports, requisitions, evaluation reports and other materials; compose routine letters; lay out simple brochures, pamphlets and other informational documents.
- Perform such other functions and duties as may be necessary and related to the above and as determined by future course of events by the building administrator and/or his/her designee.
